Where can I mount this? Can I put it inside my trailer?

We typically recommend you mount it on top of the trailer or wherever it will get the best signal possible. This device should not be completely enclosed in metal. It will not get a good signal if it is inside completely enclosed.

Can I mount this underneath?

It depends. Some customers get a perfect signal when mounted underneath and others get absolutely no signal at all. The most important thing is to double-check the satellite signal before you mount it in that location. USING THE WEBSITE

What website do I go to? How do I sign in?

The website is www.gpsandtrack.net. We have already set up your account and emailed you the log-in information. Please use this information and do not try to set up your own account. If you don’t see that email please check you junk mail. If you still don’t see it call us at 800-578-1809 in case we have the wrong email for you.

I didn’t get my log-in information where is it?

The log-in was sent to your email address. Please double-check your spam box. If you still don’t see it please call us at 800-578-1809

I’m logged in now what?

Once you are logged in, you will see map of North America. On the left-hand side, underneath the search bar you should see your device. Please click on the checkbox next to the device. You should now see your device locating on the map. Please follow the instructions provided to test your satellites and RSSI signal.

My device is still showing up in CA. When I click the locate now button it says “Device has never registered with Colt system”???

Did you take off the magnet? If yes, please place the magnet back on for another 5-10 minutes then make sure the device is outside, in the open, with nothing possibly blocking the signal, and take the magnet off again. It should register properly now. If it is still not registering it may be due to a weak cell signal. Just call us at 800-578-1809 to we can diagnose the issue further.

How does the TTU-730 work?

This device will update for you once a day every 24-hours to be exact. After it updates it goes into a sleep-mode to preserve it’s battery life. While its in sleep-mode you will not be able to hit Locate Now.  In the event that your equipment gets stolen, what we would do is send a “Recovery Mode” Signal to the device. So the next time it does it’s daily update, it would wake up, get that Recovery Mode Signal, know to stay awake, and from there you would be able to track in Real-Time until you recover your equipment and put the device back to sleep. 

When does my device check in next?

You device will check-in every 24 hours from when you first took off the magnet. So just see what time it last checked in to get an idea of when it will check in next.

Can I change the check-in time?

Yes. In order to change the check-in time please place the magnet back on the device for at least 5-10 minutes and then when it is the time you want it to check-in everyday take off the magnet. The device will start checking in at the time everyday.

How do I ping the device?

This device will automatically update for you once a day every 24-hours to be exact. After it updates it goes into a sleep-mode to preserve it’s battery life. Why do I keep getting a command failed when I click the binoculars?

If you are still in your installation phase, it’s possible the device went back to sleep. You can put the magnet back on for 5-10 minutes and then take it off again to give you some more time to finish your tests.

If you already have everything installed and are just trying to check in on your trailer and you are getting a command failed that because this device will automatically update for you once a day every 24-hours to be exact. After it updates it goes into a sleep-mode to preserve it’s battery life. While its in sleep-mode you will not be able to hit Locate Now or ping the device.  In the event that your equipment gets stolen, what we would do is send a “Recovery Mode” Signal to the device. So the next time it does it’s daily update, it would wake up, get that Recovery Mode Signal, know to stay awake, and from there you would be able to track in Real-Time until you recover your equipment and put the device back to sleep. 

How do I reset this device with the magnet?

Do you still have the magnet that first came with the device? Place the magnet in the small rectangle on top of the device (where it was when you first received the device). You will have to tape that magnet on there for at least 5 minutes. Take the magnet off. Then go to the computer and click the LOCATE NOW Button (aka the binoculars) at least three times. This will reset the device. NOTE: You only have about 10 minutes after taking the magnet off to click the Locate Now button. You can always give us  a call (800) 578-1809 to do if for you if you are not near a computer. Sometimes this whole process has to be done twice.
