Stolen property tracked via GPS

fowlerSouthampton County, Va. – A 53-year-old Courtland man was arrested Monday after stolen property was traced to his property via GPS tracking.

The Southampton County Sheriffs’ Office served a search warrant at the home of John Wayne Fowler Sr in the 14000 block of Plank Road on Monday.

Investigators working with the Hertford County NC Sheriff’s Office had received a GPS tracking signal at the property on construction equipment that had been stolen from Hertford County.

That piece of a equipment, a 2012 Kubota ATV with a dump body, was found on the property, as well as other stolen property, which included: a Hutchins 5 ton trailer ;Case 95XT Skid Steer Loader; Currahee  Trailer; (2) Large Better Built Job Tool Boxes with tools; Miller 400D welder;(2) green welding carts; Acetylene regulator; Oxygen regulator; cutting torch head and hose; (2) buckets of wrenches and sockets(Pittsburgh Brand) and a Dewalt drill.
